Most writing aimed at high earners is there to sell something — advice, a pension review, a coaching package. This guide sells nothing, and the constraint that follows is the useful part: it can only contain things that are true for every reader.
What this guide will not do
It gives no advice — not on tax, not on pensions, not on your career. The test every sentence here has to pass is could this be wrong for an individual reader? If the answer is yes, it is advice and it does not go in. So you will find the mechanism of the £100,000 taper and not a view on what to do about it; the eight reasons an employer may refuse a flexible working request and not a script for making one. That is a narrower guide than the ones competing for the same searches, and a more trustworthy one. There is also no calculator anywhere on this site, for the same reason.

Why a jobs board writes this
Because we can see something nobody writing about senior UK work can see: what employers actually put in their adverts. Of the 1,898 roles listed here right now, 1,069 state their working pattern and 829 state nothing at all about hours. That gap is not an opinion, and it is the kind of thing this guide is for.
The same applies to pay. We count disclosure on every build rather than quoting a figure from last quarter, which is why the transparency page recomputes itself and occasionally disagrees with something we wrote earlier.
